70 Health Workers in South Thousand Islands Injected with COVID-19 Vaccines Today

As many as 70 health workers in South Thousand Islands Sub-district have been injected with COVID-19 vaccines, Wednesday (1/27).

South Thousand Islands Sub-district Health Center (Puskesmas) Head, Ilmi Tri Indarto explained, those who had received COVID-19 vaccines were 50 health workers in South Thousand Islands Sub-district Puskesmas and Tidung Island Urban Village Puskesmas, 9 health workers in Lancang Island Puskesmas, 4 health workers in Pari Island Health Post, and 7 health workers in Untung Jawa Island Puskesmas.

"Those who are vaccinated today have never been exposed to COVID-19. It doesn't include COVID-19 survivors or those with unhealthy condition," he said.

According to him, vaccinators were sent as vaccination team that consisted of doctors, nurses, and midwives from each Puskesmas.

"It is carried out simultaneously today. We hope through vaccination program, COVID-19 pandemic will end soon. In order to convince the public that the vaccine is safe, we live broadcast today's vaccination activities via IG and Facebook at PuskesmasSeribuSelatan account," he conveyed.

After being vaccinated today, he was asked to wait for 30 minutes to see the reaction after vaccination. But he conveyed that he didn't feel sick.

"It's just like being bitten by ant when it is injected. The second stage vaccination will be given 14 days later," he informed.
